The Internet Is Not A Substitute For Your Memory

Inside the Cage refers to a caged beast pacing about its prison, only my prison is my own mind, and this blog is an attempt to get out.

See, I started getting into blogs as of late. I keep up with a few, even have RSS feeds on some, know a few people who have one (more on that later). I've suggested that others try to maintain one (others more creative than myself). Say, why don't I try one myself? Hell, I probably already have, but I think even the internet forgot. At any rate, why not try it out? No one will care if it sucks, chances are no one will notice.
I do hope, though, that it'll get better with time.

This mostly started with a guy named Nate. Nate is a writer and fitness columnist. I used to read some of the articles on the online publication he works for, and decided he's not a bad writer. Not too long ago, I approached my brother and told him that he doesn't take very good care of himself, pointing out that he is underweight and out of shape, despite having lettered in high school three times. To be sure that he took the notion seriously, I bought him a book called Built For Show, written by Nate for guys that are of college-age, that details how to take care of yourself well enough for others to notice. After reading the first few chapters of the book, I realized that Nate is not only a decent writer, but he is also quite entertaining. My brother found out he had a blog, and the two of us have been following him closer and closer the more we read from his site, and now, blogs have my attention.
What finally got me to create this blog has to do with a friend I call Warrior Princess. She is my age, and takes classes classes close to where I live. In her Lit class, one of her weekly assignments is to update a blog. After reading some of her posts, I get the notion that she really doen't enjoy doing them. They're not bad, but some seemed forced. Since I have an opinion on everything, voiced or otherwise, I wanted to suggest to her that she write in th eblog more than required so that she may come to enjoy it, but I realized that I don't know anything about writing blogs. I found out that creating a blog is easy- I set this up in a minute, tops- and I used the same website as she.
So, I tried it.

Now, I almost don't want anyone else to know that I have one- someone might Read it! Oh well, maybe I will maybe I won't.
